About Our Summer Intern Program 

Are you ready to kick-start your career? ISACA’s Intern Program offers rising Juniors and Seniors as well as Graduate students a hands-on experience and meaningful projects that drive impact. We're not your typical internship!

Responsibilities

Intern roles and responsibilities  

The Communications Intern will assist the Communications Team and Membership Marketing Team, working across a span of functions. You will gain public relations knowledge by building media lists, writing news releases, monitoring and recording media activities and coverage, and preparing reports. Additionally, you will generate social media ideas and art, assist with reporting and analysis to help build our social media followers and community, and research best practices for social media. You will also gain content-related experience by helping draft, proof and optimize communications materials, as well as perform competitive analysis related to content and tech conferences, and more. 

 

Specifically, you will: 

  • Monitor media coverage, track interviews and assist with reports featuring communications metrics. 
  • Generate social media ideas and posts and assist with reporting and analysis to help build our social media followers and community. 
  • Assist team in drafting and proofing communications materials and optimizing them to increase reach and web searchability. 
  • Research journalists and media outlets, and update and build media lists. 
  • Research tech-related conferences for potential speaker placements. 
  • Conduct competitive analysis to help identify new opportunities. 
  • Assist communications and social media team with other tasks as needed. 

Qualifications

RequiredField of Study 

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in communications, public relations, journalism or similar field 

 

Skills and attributes required 

  • Excellent writing and grammar skills 
  • Strong verbal communication 
  • Familiarity with social media platforms 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills 
  • Professionalism  
  • Sense of urgency 
  • Curiosity and inquisitiveness 

 

*Location: We strongly prefer candidates who can commute to Schaumburg, IL for orientation as well as 3-4 in-person meetings throughout the summer. Though you are welcome to work from our offices full-time, there is no requirement to do so. We will consider select remote locations within the U.S., but preference will be given to local candidates.
