Overview

The Product Specialist I is responsible for executing and optimizing core product operations processes to ensure accurate product setup, seamless customer experiences, and consistent operational practices. This role manages key functions such as product setup, testing, inventory coordination, and vendor management. The Specialist works cross-functionally to maintain product accessibility, quality, and compliance, and serves as a key resource for operational excellence within the product lifecycle. 

Responsibilities

  • Own product setup within eCommerce systems, leading QA and user acceptance testing (UAT) for new and updated products. Ensure storefront content—including pricing, descriptions, and images—is accurate, compliant, and continuously maintained
  • Manage vendor coordination for shipping, printing, and eBook platforms, overseeing purchase orders, invoicing, and inventory monitoring to ensure timely delivery and operational continuity.
  • Administer product systems such as Fonteva and Salesforce, proactively resolving operational issues and ensuring data integrity across platforms. Act as a first point of accountability before escalation.
  • Assist with reporting, audits, and documentation of product data to ensure accuracy and compliance with branding, legal, and quality standards.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by suggesting ways to streamline product operations workflows and enhance customer experience.

Qualifications

Required Field of Study:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum Years of Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years

Description of Minimum Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage product data, workflows, or systems with accuracy and accountability.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and/or cross-functional teams to support product delivery.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to Salesforce, Fonteva, or similar platforms preferred.

Preferred Field of Study:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Years of Experience:

  • 5+

Description of Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in experience in product operations, eCommerce, or digital content management. Familiar with Salesforce, Fonteva, or similar platforms. Experience with publishing, digital content, or professional associations a plus

  • Adaptability: Eager to learn, flexible with shifting priorities, and open to process changes. 

 

This role may require up to 5% travel to participate in company-sponsored events and organization-wide meetings.
