Responsibilities

You will be working closely with our Corporate Development & Strategy team by supporting tasks such as market research, financial and data analysis, as well as other tasks that support the team’s core functions. You may also undertake special projects as needed.

 

Specifically in this internship, you will:

Market & Landscape Analysis

  • Conduct structured analysis of adjacent and emerging markets relevant to ISACA (e.g., cybersecurity education, AI governance, risk & compliance tools, professional learning platforms).
  • Map the market landscape, including traditional competitors, partners, startups, platforms, and ecosystem players.
  • Identify macro and industry trends (technology, regulation, talent, AI, enterprise demand) shaping ISACA’s opportunity set.

Corporate Development Strategy Support

  • Help define what “good” looks like for ISACA in corporate development:
    • Target company profiles
    • Capability gaps vs. build/partner/buy options
    • Strategic rationale for acquisitions vs. partnerships
  • Develop target segmentation frameworks (e.g., by capability, customer segment, geography, and maturity).
  • Support evaluation of inorganic growth pathways across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons.

Strategic Analysis

  • Analyze different organic and inorganic growth models (i.e., buy versus build versus partner, go-to-market, ecosystem alliances).
  • Identify potential priority partnership categories and exemplar partners.

Opportunity Evaluation & Synthesis

  • Build high-level business cases and strategic assessments (not full diligence).
  • Evaluate opportunities against ISACA’s mission, strategy, and operating model.
  • Create clear, executive-level synthesis for leadership discussions.

Executive & Board-Facing Deliverables

  • Produce structured outputs such as:
    • Market maps and landscape views
    • Strategic option frameworks
    • Prioritization matrices
    • Briefing decks and memos for senior leadership

Qualifications

Required Field of Study

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in fields including or related to: Business Administration (MBA).

  • Experience in consulting, investment banking, PE, or strategy role
  • Experience in cybersecurity, technology, or governance/risk domains

Location

We strongly prefer candidates who can commute to Schaumburg, IL for orientation as well as 3–5 in person meetings throughout the summer. Though you are welcome to work from our offices full-time, there is no requirement to do so. We will consider select remote locations within the U.S., but preference will be given to local candidates.
